Koolau,

By now you've read all the post, and have seen that the pumpless set up works fine for some(maybe would have for everybody

) without doing anything other then removing the pump.
In a recent thread where I was trying to get to the bottom of just what did cause a stumble from starvation because the pump was gone, the concensus among those who have done it and tested it, seems to be that WOT through the gears, and then running for some period of time at 90 to 95 in 4th would get a stumble without a pump. That was using the bigger 3.0 grizzley valve.
Good luck with the mod.
