Drill out the tree for wiring 10 Months, 2 Weeks ago

I was told by Tim b when I ordered my cables for my new bars that drilling out the tree to drop the wires through makes it look real nice. I was wondering if anyone has done this? If you did do you have a pic or some specific direction doesn't seem like something you will want to get wrong. If you didn't how did you run your wires. Thanks

Someone drilled out there risers and ran the wire thru a hollow bolt. No idea how they did it but it was the cleanist way i have ever seen it done.
The hollow bolt for the risers kind worries me as far as how stronge it wod be though.

Yea don't know if I'd trust a hollow bolt, but I saw that same thread a while back. With my fairing on, you have to really look to see where my wires run out The bottom of the bars. I'm wondering if your windshield may hide them as well?

A hollow bolt is not really a big deal on the risers. Not much load on it unless you are crashing.

My biggest concern is losing the strength of the top of the tree. Is that hard to get off that part is the pics?

It's not hard to take apart, but you can drill it in place. Just use a vacuum to collect the shavings. I drilled out mine way back when and the pictures the last guy posted is basicly how I did mine. The upper tree is aluminum so it's not hard to drill.

I took a third bar clamp and drilled out the lower half and used it as my wire chase. I also drilled through the top tree. The middle clamp only serves as a wire chase.
I think that it turned out pretty slick.

Is thre a place on the tree that I should not drill? So it doesn't create a weak spot. I know I am a PITA but I appreciate the help.

How did anyone hide the wires without drilling out the tree?
