Re:Roadwing Rear Shock Conversion 9 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I got the wing shock in, tested everything , went for a ride,, and broke the pump housing. It has a boss with a set screw in it, wont work it this is not intact. I am trying to fix the housing, if not, then I have to find a pump housing. this sucks.. but I am sure I put it in too tightly, and strapped it real well, when I came back after the ride, it was loose, so it is hitting something., gotta be the swing arm. I was os looking forward to not hitting bottom, now it feels like no suspension at all, I measured the bottom of the fram rail to the ground, on the left side with kick stand down, it is less than 2 inches,, looooow rider..

No, its on the pump itself.. there is a boss with some kind of adjustment screw in it, thats what I broke.. I am trying to patch it overnite,, maybe the weld and a hose clamp on it.. there is not fluid leaking or pressure on the screw.. not sure what it is for.

Dixie did you put the pivot back in right easy to flip when the assembly is out. Your describing the frame sounds like that might have happened. Reference the flip and grind to double check.

Re:Roadwing Rear Shock Conversion 9 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I put it back together the same way it came out.. someone before me may have done this.. I mean, this thing is slammed..after looking at the tech articles.. I think it was flipped/ but I still have the broken pump. I did not notice any grinding marks, everything looked stock to me.. but what do i know? should it be sitting so low even without the pump working? with the stock shock , it was low to begin with, hence the desire to change.. help me out here..

If you look at my pic that is lowered by flip and grind compare to JD. So you'll have to compare with the tech article as reference.
