Lower rear fender more... 5 Years, 3 Months ago
Any one know how to get the rear fender even lowerr on the tire? I have lowered the entire bike and I have read the tech article here about modifying the fender mount. But I still see Roadies out there with fenders much lower.

Example - http://www.flickr.com/photos/roofer429/1449255118/

Thanks for any help.

Eric

I bought a long rear fender then installed progressive springs which lowered the bike 3 inches.

You can't lower the bike and lower the fender as much as you would like ... you don't have enough fender to tire clearance

The fender is mounted to the bike. The tire is mounted to the swingarm.

When you lower the bike you move the swingarm up which pushes the tire into the fender. When you lower the fender you are moving it closer to the tire. In both cases the limiting factor is the tire to fender clearance which I've found shouldn't be less than about 3".
