rejetting question/pilot jet 5 Years, 2 Months ago
Can somebody tell me if the stock pilot jet has any markings on it?
I finally found time to rejet after the dealer rejet.
I pulled a 200 out of the main jet. I think it must be a
Dyno jet. The Mikuni jets I got from Baron's all have
a the size along with an R and some symbol.
I don't want to put everything back until I know what
is in there. I went with the Mikuni 170 and will set everything up
as per Baron's suggestions.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated
Thanks again

If you are pulling out a main jet of 200 it is a DJ #200 MAIN JET.
The pilot you are also removing has no markings, It is a DJ37 PILOT JET. even money the Main fuel needle is a DJ pilot DNO977 and the needle is the very same as the BAK fuel needle.

I know the dealer uses DJ kits. Or at least that is what he billed me for.
I did call and ask if he replaced the pilot jet. He said he could not remember.
I guess I will track down a 35 pilot jet. That is what Musky reccomends, he
hasn't been wrong with any of my problems yet.
I think it would be easier just to by one than ask the dealer to give the old one back.
Thanks again

It the jets have an R and symbol on them then they are Mikuni.

You are on the right track ... 170 main, #35 pilot, clip on the 5 th slot from the top of the needle, and PMS about 2.5 to 3 turns out.

Do the WOT test to fine tune the main.

DJ and Baron needles are different .... use the Baron needle.

Barons calls for the 4th slot from the top.
I don't care. Is this where people usually end up (5th Slot)?
We ahve a few more days before we can really ride around here.
gotta get a 35 pilot jet.

The 5th is rich - good power, could produce SVS symptoms and poor mileage.

Use the 5th to dial in the main .... then drop back to 4th for compromise between mileage and power.
