#96594 TOPNOTCH (User) Git-R-Done Expert Boarder Posts: 408 DARK SIDE (car tire on my Road*) 4 Months, 3 Weeks ago   Ok Guys I am the Road* test pilot. The term "dark side" is for the M/C riders who run car tires on there bikes. Lots of the Goldwing riders and Valkyrie riders are doing it. My Metz is almost gone so I am ready to go to the Darkside. My question is this, Do any of you know what is the size car tire that will fit on my 06 cast rim without having to grind anything? I know the rim is MT 3.50 16". I know I need a 16" tire, but as far as the other numbers I do not know what will fit. Example 195/60/16 , 195/55/16. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated . And, you don't ride on the edge. By mounting on a 3.5" wheel and running 40 psi, that puppy is round. I'm thinking of doing the same when I need to buy new rubber. They're considerably less money and last longer. On other sites, there seems to be something approaching a consensus that the General Altimax is a good choice. The person said something about a certian brand of tire was also better. I can't remember which it was, I'll try to find the thread and maybe post it, if I can. Well, it's not and I can tell a difference in handling with the Metzeler. Next time around I may do the car tire. We'll see.
