Its just a piece of aluminum flat stock, one of the tech articles here has a version...
I started with a piece of tin to use as a template, than added the arc so my thumb would clear to hit the starter.. smoothed it out on the belt sander to give it the brushed aluminum look and bolted it on.
Drilling the hole in the housing by hand so not to hit the starter button or wires inside..

If you drill the hole in the housing -one of the wire drill sizes to work with the metric screws for tapping the housing, I could probably make another piece,
I had the taps for the metric screws and just had to buy the stainless locknut.

Wish I had time, half my wifes family lives in Lousiana

Here's another option for a throttle lock. I've used mine since last summer, and I like the way you can't see it most of the time. I really like what bowhunter did with his Vista Cruise though!

Clever Lever:

Going to do some playing around and see if i can come up with some kinda of a throttle lock for mine here in the next couple of weeks. I do alot of 250 plus mile days on the scoot and alot of open road... There isnt much room between the Kury grip and the housing but i am sure there is something that can be rigged up

Much of the numbness comes from the position of the arm and shoulder to the handle bars. My stock bars were too low and too far forward. Baron's has articles on proper positioning of the bars for maximum comfort and control. Another cause of numbness is constant grip pressure to hold the throttle. This can be relieved with a throttle Boss or similar device that allows you to release the grip and hold throttle position with the butt of your hand. I have traveled many long miles this way with no issues. However, recently I added the Brake Away throttle lock and man is that nice. I can set it and relax my right hand. No more pain in the shoulder from holding position for long periods. The Brake Away is pricey, but worth it

So, Cruiserbob, how do you actuate the Brake Away? And does it disengage when you pull the front brake lever? For the cost, it ought to be something much more than the Clever Lever or the simple "throttle boss", paddle types. Not knowing exactly what causes the numbness in my fingers yet (grips, bars, nerve damage, etc.) I'm thinking to start with the least expensive 'fix' and go from there. But the safest and most effective cruise control is in the future anyway. Thanks for the tip.

What size gasket is the smallest gasket with the throttle lock? I may need to replace mine with something cut a little better that what I did!

They give you 2, I trimmed the one small enough to fit in snug with the cut edge going inside to not be seen.. its only purpose is to give the screws a surface to push against the throttle to keep it form slipping.
I had to push it in with a screw driver to get past the iso rubber parts on the grip.

Hey bowhunter, I have the same throttle lock and I'm having some trouble with it. It doesn't hold the throttle tight enough and it starts to let out slowly but surely even though I locked it.

Also, what is the standard release procedure for these? Do you just push it back out? Or is there a smoother way? I'm new to the game so any help is greatly appreciated!
