I've got the same problem shacky. My AIS is coming off soon too. Just haven't had the time to spend on it lately.

I have the same problem with my KhromeWerks slipons. I love the sound of the pipes, but have to minimize hard decels.
Will AIS removal void warranty? Can anything else be done to stop decal popping?

It won't void the warranty since it only affects the exhaust and doesn't deal with any internal engine mods, etc. You want to make sure the joint between the Khrome Werks and the OEM headers are as tight as you can get them (no excessive force tho). Fine tuning the PMS might help, but that would be my last resort. Also, the thinner summer air is contributing to the problem, too. I didn't have that much of a problem before summer hit.

I just installed my krome werks slipons last night...boy what a difference now my bike sounds like it looks... awesome.
Do the 08 have an AIS where is it located? Sould I disconnect it? I do get a pop when i decelerate, is there anything to do or should I even worry about it. Someone said to disconnect the battery, does this reset the FI computer? The mufflers fit nice and tight no worrys about leaks where they hook on.

thanks

The AIS is located at the front of your bike behind the rectifier. The pop comes from having less baffles in your muffler, and the extra air being pumped into the exhaust chamber by the AIS to clean up the emissions (this is also assuming the point where the muffler meets the header is tight so there are no air leaks there). It's just annoying. The tech section describes how to remove the AIS.

I only know all three need to be plugged Redstar. Give it a shot and you might solve the problem (we hope).

Small top hose most important. It's giving your intake manifold a vacuum leak - big time, hence the popping is worse. You are now running very lean.

Stick a golf tee in that little hose and tuck it up out of the way. You should see big improvement.

BTW - They do sound nice, don't they.
