#101858 oklardstar (User) oklardstar Fresh Boarder Posts: 10 AIS REMOVAL?? 4 Months ago   I am considering buying a AIS reomoval kit off ebay for my 05 Rd*, I was wondering if any one had anything to say, either good or bad about AIS removal. I know it will clean up the looks of the motor, and I know I will not gain any performance. I would just say this (as I've posted before), the vacuum cap that comes in the kit to seal off the intake manifold nipple is too big. I picked up a package of 3/16" vacuum caps for a couple of bucks at the auto parts store. This size fits nicely. You won't notice a performance difference with ten AIS gone. Seems to be pretty much an aesthetics thing - looks cleaner. I've got my baffles drilled and man the bike just.. sounds dumb under deceleration, I'm wondering if it'll clear up a lot of that backfiring, and also if it'll mess with the FI? Cheers. I just did mine and really helped on decel popping plus bike looks so much cleaner with out the junk on it. The flange style is easy as pie to remove and block off. I bought my set on ebay also, and it took less then an hour to complete the job. I was having popping during decel, but I found it was an exhaust leak, fixed that and all my troubles went away. Has practically eleminated the regular decel popping I was having on my 06. However I am having a bit of backfire after hard excel while passing vehicles or just laying into the throttle and then letting off throttle. More than likely in my carb settings and the fact I am still running stage 3 stock exhaust??
