I find Amazon Canada pricing can be extreme. The exchange rate and brokerage rate makes goods coming from USA to Canada more expensive vs from China. I prefer American made motorcycle and industrial goods as I find for the most part the stuff is heavy duty. Like Hobart dishwashing systems I work on, The older stuff is very high quality. Of Douglas Machine corp. I do warranty work for a lot of companies and the made in U.S.A. is superior with regards to ware wash equipment by far.

I find the best deals for home stuff are on Ali Express but may take months to get. Got a high quality of ISO grips and foot pegs for 1/2 the price of a leading brand name supplier. I guess on line is hit and miss. China makes great items, some heavy duty, some not.

USA, China, the main difference is the consumer. We tend to feel that certain items are just not worth more than $$$ so we buy the least expensive, which makes overseas the only choice. Then there are the high dollar purchases (cars for example) where build quality and reliability become the driving force (Honda, Toyota, Mercedes) over the generally poor (but improving) US products. The real competition (IMHO) is in the middle ground where the quality is similar, the cost is close, and the "buy American" emotion does not cost to much.

A good friend of mine spends a lot if time in China as a manufacturing inspector for American firms. He has told me items packaged identically can be made from one of many company's located within China.
My experience is in machine tools and I've noticed quality can be all over the place.....hit and miss is an understatement.
