Don't buy Roadhouse Brand unless you want exhaust leaks! If I were going back with duals I would buy the True Duals from Freedom exhaust. nopork.com sales them and stopped saling Roadhouse Dooley's.

If you want TRUE dooleys go with Hacker or Freedom other wise several members here (Mark7 ) swear by the RH dooleys IMHO I like the Freedom duals!

Well, I don't swear by 'em, but like Cougar they work well (and sound good) to me.

They were more of a problem to install than I had ever expected, but once everything fell into place all was good. We tightened up all the joints, made sure they were seated well and I haven't had a licks worth of trouble out of 'em.

Since they have a crossover pipe they aren't true dual exhaust, so if that's what you seek look elsewhere. I have 'em on my Roadie because I like the look and the sound and because I got a deal on 'em. Unlike others on here they haven't given me any trouble. Even a bargain on price isn't a bargain in reality if you have to keep muckin' with 'em.

Of the majors out there I don't know that there is any best exhaust system. The look and sound is all subjective and one riders sweet music and beautiful lines are to another horrid noise and a blight on the bike. Get what you like. After all, aren't we "bikers" suppose to buck the system and be individuals?

Why is it you want in Doolies??? Then go from there...

To accommodate larger bags..looks.... sound..performance???...the road house more traditional look ..the freedom duals look a little funny ..where is the left pipe..on a v-twin?? from the exhaust side...and very un-beefy lookin exhaust...

Had Doolies on my Harley bagger...now I see them in 2009 are now running under the frame..so if yer trying for "the" Harley look

they have gone on to something different but still give the exhaust side of the motor that v_twin dual header pipe look...

after all you are building your bike so ask yer self ..what do "I" want

if ya go to Doolies for what ever reason then the Silverado bags will need to be lowered ..or replaced or they look funny from the rear..

What Pop said about lowering the bags. Until I lowered mine the bike did look "out of whack" for lack of a better term. With the bags down over the top of the pipes look more like they belong...if that makes any sense.

RoadieSL had a question, we shouldn't try to talk him out of it. He just wanted to know what brands are out there. Not why he should(n't) get them.

I can understand the desire to go to them. I may do it too as my HKs are cracked (as you all know ) This is what I like about them:
-from the rear it looks more proportioned/balanced and not so right heavy
-from the left it adds more chrome
-From the right it shows more of the rear wheel (nice if you are changing wheels out or adding chrome swing arm covers) (though that rear brake is huge, but you can change that out too )
-Can get gi-normous saddlebags like Tsukayu Super Jumbos without mounting them so high, you can carry children in those not that I've ever tried
-fin exhausts have the old school look to them IMHO

They look especially cool if you lower the bike and put on some fat fenders, a cool paint job, & new wheels. Now I'm talking him into something

Different strokes for different folks. The perfect exhaust is the one you like. I've heard nothing bad about the Freedoms that nopork sells.
