WOW.....!!!! Bunch of sharp looking bikes...!!

PopRivet, you have mail.

And I agree with you Javawave, you need to run a 5mm tap thru the holes to clean them out before assembly. I had to do the same thing. Sorry I didn't advise before I posted when I did my install.

Now..... let`s go ride.......!

Yes, they look cool. It brings the chrome to the back, the way tassles bring leather to the front.

I get a lot of complements at gas stations etc.

Now how about some front fender rails???

I think with me... they are goona be a nice match...

I bought these guards as well, but I did not get the rails that extend around the bag. I think w/o having hardbags that the guards themselves look best with the leather bags. They do have the two "stillettos" pointing to the rear of the bike. They were a bit pricey but what the hell!!! they add more chrome to the bike and add a little protection to boot. As soon as I can add a photo I will post it.

I saw these in the 2008 star catalog (page 54) I picked up at the MC show in November. Yeah they were in the road star section of the catalog. They were given a TBD on the pricing. I wanted to see them on existing bags before even considering. But last I look a few months ago, I couldn't find anyone selling them:

Saddlebag Guards: Helps protect saddlebags if your bike is dropped. Polished and chrome-plated for style as well as function. Compatible with both Star hard saddlebags and Silverado leather saddlebags. Saddlebag mounts (STR-5GA73-40-00) required for mounting on Road Star. PART # STR-5VN33-00-00. PRICE: TBA.

Saddlebag Trim Rails: These polished and chrome-plated trim rails wrap around either the hard or Silverado leather saddlebags adding to the flowing lines of the motorcycle. Saddlebag mounts and guards required for installation. PART #: STR-5VN72-70-00.

They look pretty good. I agree they probably look better with hard bags, but they don't look bad.

I ordered a set from my local dealer...... $400 and change for the complete set, if I remember correctly. The dealer didn't know if they could get them, but he ordered them. A week later they arrived! A piece of cake to put on......and they sure do dress the bike up. I have the Silverado bags on my Roadie....

Just finished puttin them on.....

They are really nice in 3D...the wife likes them and my neighbour Bob...enough said...

will post pics later...but I am really pleased with them...
