Anyone got a link to a manufacturer that doesn't want the whole dang world for these?

I have the Yamaha luggage rack and like it alot. It's no more pricey than any other quality luggage rack out there. (The rack has a sticker that says it has a 10 lb limit but I think that's only there for liablity reasons. I've put a travel bag weighing a little over 40 lbs on mine for a 500+ mile trip with no problems at all.) I do suggest getting the one that attaches at the backrest mount rather than the license plate. For either one, keep an eye on e-bay. I've gotten some pretty good deals on MC parts over the years from there.

Thanks... I saw one at the Stealership for $113, I think. I would like a taller sissy bar too, so that I can accomodate a luggage set. I'll hunt around.

try www.staryamaha.com. Pricing is good @ 25% off of MSRP, though shipping was a little high though. I did this a few years ago. I sold my shorty backrest on Ebay.

A guy I met here locally had a R* and showed me the tall sissy bar with studded backrest he was selling. Not sure if he still has it but I might be able to get it for $100 if your interested. Looked like new, sells for around 150 new I think. Let me know if your interested and I'll see if I can get it for you.

The pad is sold separately from the bar. The pad for the shorty fits the tall... aka same pad; so if you have the shorty, keep the pad. You also might be able to find someone selling the tall one on ebay or craigslist.

I got it for the same reason gunhead wants. The luggage rack was to hold a t-bag and the taller backrest adds support for securing it to the bike. Wife has never complained about the tall backrest, though I don't think I ever asked her.

I had no problem selling the shorty. Think I got like $65 bucks for it. It was like 3 years ago, but if I recall, that was about right.
