Slick looking bike Pop......

No doubt the guards really fill out the rear of the bike.

I've got to tell you... all of you are awsome by sharing your experiences and knwledge. I have been searching all over the place for information on these protectors for my new RS Silverado without much success. Luckly I found this forum. Pretty much you have anwered all my questions and provided me with enough details (intallation, part #' etc.)to move on with the project. Perhaps the folks at the Yami dealer could benefit from these postings;I found them to be totally in the dark on this issue.
Thanks a bunch!!!!

Saddlebag Guards: Helps protect saddlebags if your bike is dropped. Polished and chrome-plated for style as well as function. Compatible with both Star hard saddlebags and Silverado leather saddlebags. Saddlebag mounts (STR-5GA73-40-00) required for mounting on Road Star. PART # STR-5VN33-00-00. PRICE: TBA.

Saddlebag Trim Rails: These polished and chrome-plated trim rails wrap around either the hard or Silverado leather saddlebags adding to the flowing lines of the motorcycle. Saddlebag mounts and guards required for installation. PART #: STR-5VN72-70-00.

You get them at your local Yamaha dealer.

The total price I paid was $491.55. The rear guards were $269.96 and the trim rails were $179.96.

If you already have the Yamaha saddle bags on your bike, you don't need to buy the mounts.... they are already on the bike.

Like Javawave said... buy 'em at your local dealer.
