I installed the Cobra 2 into 1 onto my XV1600 Road Star last week. I had the pipes fitted by qualified bike mechanic who made some adjustments to carby then run the bike up on the dyno.

There was a slight increase in both HP and torque. The noise was too loud for me so contacted Cobra who informed me they were working on quieter baffles but these would be several weeks away.

I managed to extract the baffle and visited a local muffler shop and was able to get someone to assist me with manufacture of a baffle extension. The result was quite pleasing, it took the edge of the excessive noise while maintaining a nice note.

In summary, unless you are looking for a loud system or are prepared to carry out some modifications, then stay clear of the Cobra 2 into 1 system.

Subject: Floorboard Extensions
Roadstar_Rob: I'm looking to extend my driver boards out away from the bike. All of the extensions I've come across are for moving them forward. Anyone familiar with extension mod to set them out wider? Thanks, Rob
