For a custom bike with the wheels exposed, I could see it. Folks with customs are looking for a different look. I'm afaird they arent for me at that number, but to each his own. The market will dictate if they make it or not. If people will pay it, they will survive. If not they won't.

Have you guys priced out wheels? None of them are cheap. Chrome wheels are going to run you @ $1200/each. Take a look. Most on-line sites won't even give you pricing, they tell you to call.

This place will chrome BOTH your stock wheels for $695!Cycle image
I DO REALLY like those wheels though just not the price

Have you priced PM or RC wheels? you will drop a good $2500-$3000 for a complete set with pully. I lucked out with mine $580 shipped with tires on them that I ran for 5000 miles. The pull and adapters, hubs put me just short of $700. I sold my old cast wheels for $300. It all just sort of fell in my lap.

Oh, I know and if I get around to looking for new wheels I probably will go this route as I can't justify $2400-2700 for a set of wheels. Chroming the wagons is on my wanna list as is about $8000 of other things I wanna do too. Like air suspension ($1000), fairing ($800), custom paint ($2700), more chrome ($2000), hard bags (600), tour pack (800).

Wheels are one of the most expensive 'goodies' you can add to you bike. R* wheels will run you about $2000 (without the pulley) but they are also one of the best mods for making your bike stand out from the crowd ..... as long as you don't have bags and both rotors on.

If you want to go a cheaper route you can buy HD wheels and adapt them but it's not a simple bolt on.
