I too found them cheaper online, but my local HD shop had 6 sets in stock. I was able to run down there, stop at ACE, install them on my bike, all within a hour start to finish.

I'm not a patient man.

I did a quick test ride and they would occasionaly vibrate. I saw that someone else had a vibration problem and used "rubber fender washers" between the mount and the lowers to remove the vibration. Anyone know of a part number, or where to find them?

Jeff

No part number, I just bought them at the local hardware store. Very thin ones. It worked very nicely. Just a thin rubber fender washer. It was like 29 cents each. I used 4 of them.

406shark,

Your idea on the chrome spacers was great. I followed your instructions exactly and had them mounted in minutes. Thanks.

But yeah, the vibration won't do.....really pretty bad at 65mph, a speed I try to use often Did the rubber washers do the trick?

Just wrap it around the lowers and the fork leg???

That's gonna look real nice on my road trip next week.

No problem, I'm glad my idea helped.

I installed the rubber washers Sunday, but have not had a chance to test them out yet. Sorry. Hopefully I'll get a chance later in the week.

I mounted my HD lowers the same way but it barely holds at the top slot in the lowers. Also I don't like the fact that the angle on the lowers don't match the forks like on an HD.

I'm thinking of either making a 1/2x1 inch long spacer or cutting the tab off and drilling the second hole from the bottom.

I drilled another hole in the bottom of the lowers ...so they would line up with the forks...Since I have put on yami lowers...think ill go back to the hd.. they work better and vibrate less

The rubber washers are just rubber washers, any nuts and bolts store will have them, just ask and they will point you to a selection. Get same size as your washers just rubber.

I did the install, after 100 miles of riding I could not find Chrome spacers, nor chrome OR SS nuts and bolts. I had to use off the shelf nuts and bolts and a Nylon spacer. I need a little wider spacer to move the tips of the Wind Deflectors more towards the inboard side of forks. Once I get all what I need figured out I'll have to order Chrome hardware. The vibration is only at certain speeds and goes away when you speed up. I did not drill or cut anything, it just fit.

Experience is a tough way to learn ... because, you get the test first and the lesson afterwards.
