Any advice on a throttle assist? 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I don't know whether I want an actual throttle lock for long trips, or whether I should get one of those snap-on things from Kury, they don't seem like they'd be as effective but I also want to be as in control as possible.

Any advice?

Thanks guys.

I just got back from a 2 day 900 miler and I now LOVE my throttle lock. I've got the Vista Cruise, but if money were no object, I'd have the BrakeAway. The guy I did this ride with is going to be buying a throttle lock of SOME sort today or tomorrow.

His right hand is SORE.

you might want to try a throttlemeister. I can't put one on my R* because of the aftermarket grips but I have one on my RF900 and it works great.

The Cramp busters work pretty good, but you still have to leave your hand on the grip. If you go with Vista Cruise, there is a MOD listed that takes the bridge off and from going over your starter button housing. There is also a almost FREE one that uses 1/4" rubber tube. Lots of guys that use it love it and it's like less than $1.

The "snap-on thing" from Kury just makkes it where you don't have to keep a firm grip on the throttle. ou can relax your grip and with your palm just laying across the handlebar the power is kept on; but you can't let go and remove you hand. The Break-away or Vista Cruise both hold the throttle in position where you can completely let go and keep cruising on down the road. The Vista Cruise is plastic and you push a button to engage it, then you push the button back to release it. The Break away is aluminum and is tied into the front brake lever. You push a button to engage it, and you can either push another button to release it or just touck the front brake lever and it releases. I can get either one for you at a discount; Just guessing the Vista-cruise is probably $25 and the Brake-away is probably about $150.

Wow, the $125 model sounds awesome, but also out of my reach at the moment. The vista cruise sounds nice, and if you can get it for me at a discount... one more reason to love these forums!

Thanks guys!

Hey Drago....

I'd seriously give this (almost free) mod a try before spending $125.

I did this a couple years back and wouldn't trade it for any commercial product out there.

Just my 2 cents.

I tried the Vista Cruse and even tried the mod and didn't like it. Took it off and sold it. I have TWO of the Kury large Throttle Bosses and the are good I can lay my fingers on the levers and still have full control. I do inted to the the cheap tubing thing one of these days but I do like to have BOTH hands on the bars at all times.
