Re:Hard time finding a sissy bar for my wife. 2 Years, 6 Months ago
I got the Yamaha Tall Sissy Bar and that did the trick, in terms of height. The real key, however, was matching up the new sissy bar with the right pad. I got the Mustang Contoured Backrest Pad and the new combo works admirably.

Both of the Yamaha sissy bars (short and tall) have a backward lean, when installed. The "business" side of most OEM or aftermarket pads follow the lines of the sissy bar, resulting in a very uncomfortable backward lean for the passenger; however, the Mustang Contoured pad is angled slightly forward, giving the passenger a very comfortable riding position.

My $.02.
