I'd recommend Drag Speciaties 16" apes that are 1 1/2" in diameter - the thickest on the market that you could get. I've heard two horror stories of guys that went with 1" thick bars (they almost lost their lives... but I won't get into that). Not only are these bars totally strong, but they also make for easy internal wiring because the wires just pull right through with virtually no resistance. AND they look killer! I was parked next to another Roadstar that had 1" apes and my bike just looked bigger and badder. I've got 1.5" thick engine guards too, so everything complements each other.

I got mine through Clifford. He saved me about $50 or $60 just on the price compared to if you went through an online retail shop or catalog. If you order through him, tell him you're looking for the Tolemar 1.5" Apehangers #600704. Tolemar makes the "Big Buffalo" bars for Drag Specialties.

Here's the link to the Tolemar bars that Clifford can get you at a HUGE discount from the stated price:

You'll have to get the Big Buffalo risers for these bars as well.

By the way, I got +10" over braided cables and brake line (through Clifford) and they're perfect for 16" tall handlebars - not too long, not too short.

Let me know if you have any questions.

:-DD.
