Just for shits and grins ... the blue/yellow (speed sensor) and green (fuel level) wires run up into the headlight bucket, through a plug connector and back out to the Speedo.
Try pulling the headlight, popping the connector apart and spraying electric parts cleaner in both connector ends and and use a toothbrush or something to work down into the connectors while it's soggy with cleaner, then pack with dielectric and reconnect and reinstall headlight and ride it and see if that cures the speedo problems.
If it works your only out a restocking fee.

Edit: I am assuming you have already tried the cleaning thing with the connector at the speedo.

Roadstar_Rob: I'm looking to extend my driver boards out away from the bike. All of the extensions I've come across are for moving them forward. Anyone familiar with extension mod to set them out wider? Thanks, Rob
