Ok, bars are on and bike rides good. Everything works.........except. The bike will not idle (or turn over)in neutral with the kick stand down without holding the clutch handle in. I know it is something to do with the safety feature that won't let you take off with the stand down, but I don't know how to fix it. I know most of you are going to say to bypass it, but I would rather have it working properly. IF it can't be fixed then I will bypass it, but if I can get it to work right I would like to keep it hooked up. I though that maybe the wires that plug into the clutch handle might have gotten crossed when I was lengthening the wires. Anybody have ANY ideas?

Everything is working exactly as it should and did before. If you bypass anything you will increase the danger. Try starting a Harley with it in gear and watch happens! IF THE BIKE IS IN GEAR AND THE STARTER WORKS THE BIKE WILL MOVE and run over anything in front of it! If the bike is in gear and you squeeze the clutch then it can start and not move; if it is out of gear it will start and not move. It did then same thing before just you apparently didn't notice for some reason. Suzuki makes their bikes so that they won't ever start unless the clutch lever is squeezed!

I would make sure that one of the wires on the clutch switch did not come disconnected when you ran it through the bars. It seems like it is seeing the clutch as disengaged (as far as the starting circuit is concerned). If you have a multimeter check for continuity at the switch and down below.

Also check your neutral switch...it may have come disconnected so the starting circuit doesn't know your in neutral. Should be a light blue wire.

Clifford. I know my other post was kinda confusing so I'll try to explain better. The safety shut off will not let the bike idle in neutral with the kick stand down. I know that it would idle in neutral with the stand down because I would let it warm up while I got my sunglasses, helmet, etc. on. Everything else works like normal. If I put the stand down with it in gear it dies like it is supposed to. It will also idle in neutral without holding the clutch if the stand isn't down. The problem is that it won't idle in neutral unless I am holding the clutch lever. I do not want to bypass the safety switch unless I ABSOLUTELY have to.

Definitely sounds like the neutral switch. Sounds like clutch switch and kickstand switch are working properly.

I was just messing with the bike again and this caught my attention. When the bike is in neutral with the kick stand down and the clutch lever NOT depressed the bike will turn over and over and over, but will not crank. Obviously, it isn't getting fire. When I pull the clutch lever it starts right up.

The safety switch is supposed to interrupt the starter relay so that it will not ever turn over. It does this properly when the stand is down and the bike is in gear (won't turn over at all). There must be a wire that is grounded. I don't think any of them could have come undone because I soldered the sh** out of them. I have no idea how to begin trying to track down the cause of this problem.

Then I would check the clutch switch.

I think you might have the wires on the clutch switch backwards. When you pull the handle in it connects the circuit inside the switch. If you have power going to the wrong side it seems like it would act as you describe, but once the clutch is pulled in it completes the circuit and starts like it should.

So should I try reversing the wires on the clutch switch? Also, where is the neutral switch?

I wouldn't think the nuetral switch would be the prob, swapping the wires on the clutch sensor would be a good start...
