Use the head pipes and run witha bigger pipe and then turn them down. I've been running 18" pipes (yes they are only 18" from exhaust outlet to tip)on my Chopper for 5 years, running a 117" motor. Fire comes out of the pipes when I'm running down the road. I roll on about 10-12k miles a year, and last year I blew a head gasket so I did the whole top end. Valves looked fine. So on burning valves without baffles, I call BS. This stems from a old belief that cold air would be sucked back into the head and warp the valve. and it ranks right up there with setting a battery on the ground (drains it). Lights,mirrors and snake oil.
