V&H Pro Pipe HS vs Cobra Power Pro HP 2 Into 1 1 Year, 9 Months ago
After spending way too much time trying to decide what exhaust to go with I have narrowed it down to one of these two exhausts. Do these exhausts allow access to the gear box to change the oil? Are there any blueing problems? Are the baffles adjustable? And finally are there any inherent problems with either one of these exhausts? Thanks, Mark

I have the Cobra power prohp 2 into 1.. they have heat shields, no problem with bluing.. I installed the HK baffle in mine to quiten it down a little... Sounds real good with or with out the extra baffle...I do alot of long distance riding and it is just alittle loud with out the baffle for me...Okay just doodling around..I choose the Cobra because of the looks, I never liked the megaphone/trumpet look of the V&H..I like the barrel on the cobra.. just my personal preference... Butch

Butch, Can you access the gear box to change the oil?

The end of the cone is 4 1/4 inch, the exhaust outlet is 2 1/4 inch. As far as the gearbox oil, the fill hole is excessible but the level hole would be hard to get to. So for a gear oil change put in the amount that the book calls for and call it good. The level hole is about 1/2 inch lower than the fill so it shouldn't be hard to figure out. I know I won't pull my pipes for that.

I have the Cobra 2 into 1 on my 08 Roadie, and really like the sound. I have been told by admirers it sounds great, even my HD buds like the sound. I have not done anything to the baffles. Now the cons: After the week in PCB for Thunderbeach, I experienced some rust issues due to salt-h2o spray. Not bad, but at the junction of 2/1. Got most out with wax and elbow griese. Cobra=better sound, V&H=better chrome maybe? My .02 Gus
