Do lowers really help?? 2 Years, 1 Month ago
I've had my R* about 6 months and am loving it. My only complaint is the wind buffeting I get...sometimes to the point of rattling my brain!!??!! I read somewhere that putting lowers on will re-direct the air to where the ride is much smoother and quieter. I live in north Texas so wind will always be a factor, but will lowers improve my ride?? Or, do I maybe need to adjust the height of my windshield??

Yes lowers really help. They stop a lot of the wind that comes from under the windshield and blasts up into your chest and face. For me I will not ride with out them. Windshield adjustment doesn't help with this problem unless of course
you are way to tall for yours and you are getting it directley in the face.

If you either ride fast, or ride where winds are a frequent factor... lowers will DEFINITELY help, alot!

TwoBoyzDad I didn't get to welcome I don't think so I will now from The Colony, TX. I have home made one on my 07 and yes they do help on my 05 bober I don't have a windshield so I suffer on the full force. My home made ones work much better than any that are sold.

Yep, I have lowers on mind. One thing to be aware of is the price and where or not you have a highway bar or not

You could just get the AeroVest (has flaps that pop up and reduce the wind coming from below, redirects it off the sides.

Link to Jackflaps
