New progressive spring on the winter mods list 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Ok I just ordered up a new progressive rear spring and 31t pulley for my 01 roadie, any tips on replacing the sring? Also waiting on my new seat to get done, had it recovered with custom vinyl and new foam added by a local guy here for $100 thought it was a great deal and hoping its as comfortable as it looks Now I will just have to get things done before spring rolls around, thanks for any tips you can offer

i've got the spring sitting in my garage along with a spring compressor. i'll be following this thread. i haven't given up riding yet because of winter, but i have a feeling my riding is about to end (supposed to be 10deg on friday). as soon as i'm ready to shut off the tank, drain the carbs & jack it up, i'll be working on the spring. anyway good luck with the seat

Thanks hoping I can try it out soon the snow keeps melting off around here but I don't like all the road salt on my bike so it will sit in the shed till its time, only problem is the longer it sits the more things I come up with to do to it gets kinda pricey that way What did you get for a spring compressor?

on replacing the spring, (1) be very careful !!!!. there's alot of stored energy when the spring is compressed. Your fingers wouldn't stand a chance. My advice, if you don't have the tools, check w/ your dealer. I've heard many only ask $15-20.

Yeah I was thinking of taking it in to get the spring changed out,I am a auto tech so I have larger spring compressors to use but don't think anything will work for the bike shock just hope it helps I was dragging frame quite a few times last summer, and yes I really hope that 31tooth pulley will be run how far off is your speedo now with it?
