Quick release sissy bar... 1 Year ago
I keep my bike naked, no bags, windsheild, rear seat, or sissy bar. BUT, the lady wants a sissy bar now. She feels like she's going to fall off the back (I even tried laying off the throttle some but that didn't work). She uses a suction cup seat now, so I'm looking for a quick release sissy bar that will come on and off easily, and not have to change out my eyebrows or make any drastic changes to the bike. I think I found one: http://www.2muchfunclub.net/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=491
It looks like the little mounting posts will be the only signs that I have one when it is not in place.

Any thoughts on this? Anyone use it? Or have another recommendation?

Don't be too hard on your lady- it takes a special girl to ride without that security blanket behind her, and yes, I've ridden 'bitch' on my brother's HD Lowrider without a sissy-bar, and I was scared to death. My wife won't consider riding without one, and I gladly keep it on just to have her along. Good luck,

I'm not being hard on her, I understand. She used to ride my crotch rocket with not problems, but the leaning forward posture made her feel more comfortable I guess. So I'm shopping... She doesn't ride with me very much but I want her to be able to when she can. Any ideas are welcome, thanks guys.

That's a good price but I've never heard of them. Just the yamaha one you have to sell your first born to afford. I'd be interested too if anyone knows they are good quality

I wasn't willing to pay what Yamaha wanted so I picked up the detachable Sissybar/Backrest/Luggage rack combo from Cavalry Fibreglass:

http://www.cavalryfibreglass.com/store/

It seems solid with a large back pad, and its TALL (I had a Cobra short backrest before.) Quality of the luggage rack is below the Cobra, but the shape is a lot cooler. Overall quality isn't up to factory, but it's also 1/3 the price. The pictures show it with some wierd reflector on the back of the seat, but mine came with a decently cool looking Iron Cross shape.

I should be getting the bike back together in the next few days so I can review the fitment, etc. when I do.

**EDIT: I just looked at your post and the link, and the pictures on your page are identical to the ones on Cavalry. So I guess its down to price if you like that one. I was never able to find any other detachable other than this and Yamaha's.

Just realized I have another problem. My turn signals are on my eyebrows. I wonder if there is a way to still make this work...
