you can get those specs out of the oem service manual. I have a oem service manual for a 1700 rs, all you need to do is find a online warrior manual or somebody that has a warrior oem manual and you can check the specs. i don't think you will find any difference. the speedstar parts for the 1700 rs and warriors are exactly the same, same part numbers... thats why finding speedstar parts for the rs is tough...they all got sucked up by the warrior community.

the only specs i find in the 1700 supplement (that is all i have) is the overall height measurement of the cams.

i cannot find any info on the cam specs for either unit.

====================

I think the 5VN & 5PX are not the main pt#s for cams but the W1211-00-00
is main pt# so looks like may be same cams but am not 100% sure on it either.

Yes,factory srvc manula for std R* & Warrior should show lift & duration specs that can also clear it up.

Remember its not just lift your looking for its also duration/how long the vales are held open (espcially intake) that needs to looked at too.

TexasScott an RSC memeber that works at a Yami dealer will likely chime in when he sees this post and can clear this up for sure,Scott's good with the R*'s.

No duration. But Overall lift in the cams can be calculated. Using the middle value for min and max measurements:

For the 1600 (99-03):
Intake lift: 4.6215mm
Exhaust lift: 4.604mm

For the 1700 (04-07):
Intake lift: 6.265mm
Exhaust lift: 6.223mm

There is a change in the rocker arm ratio from 1602 to 1670 motors, the 1602 have a higher ratio.

I do not know the durations of either cam set.

WOW,i never saw cam lift specs for 1600 & 1700 side by side & that the 1700's lift is considerably more then the 1600.

Am very curious to find out what duration is between 1600/1700 R* & Warrior along with Warrior lift specs too?

TexasScott, where are ya when we need you!!!/LOL!!!!

Even tho cam lift is more on a 1700, they still could be close since he mentioned rocker arm ratio is higher for the 1600. anyone know the rr ratios? And then you can determine actual lift. Then with actual lift and duration you can see the real differences or lack thereof.

Page 2-3 and 2-4 in the standard 1600 manual have cam info. I'm still looking.

My manual shows 4.644MM difference between minimum service limit for the cam hi point and lo point.

are you running a 1600 or 1700? I do have a set of road star 1700 cams with 10K on the clock.

You want to get rid of those cams? I would be very interested in them! They would go great with my pistons that I already have sitting on the shelf! Give me a shout, I have tried to text you a few times...
