Floor board spacers? 1 Year ago
Hey am I all on my own when I say I feel like the stock floor boards could be spaced out a little wider away from the bike? Does any one sell a spacer? The right seems more uncomfortable than the left to me.

On long rides, yep. I just installed a SG engine guard and I have some footpegs in the mail. I should be able to really stretch out and it should cure it for me. The brackets I made pushed the floorboards out about 1/4" each too. Spacers would be very easy to make though. Just drill holes in some flat stock cut to fit and longer bolts.

I have the Kury Floor Board pegs on mine, get a nice stretch on the legs while riding, comfortable too.

I couldn't get comfortable until I read on about someone doing what I did here. I rest my heels on the board and the bottoms of my feet on the pegs works very well I am 6'1 with a mustang seat.

Hey Irishman- for different reasons (I added Hypercharger that got in the way of my right leg) I added a spacer to extend the floorboard out... Someone on the RSC here posted doing it and I basically copied there instructions but used a 1.5" tubing for my spacer... cut about a 3" section of 1.5 inch square metal tubing and used as a spacer between floorboard and frame....worked perfect... do a search for floorboard spacing and that thread should come up...

I do the same, but I I agree with Irishman, the right is less comfortable than the left, mainly because of the brake pedal. For me, it's due to my seat, which pushes me slightly forward, forcing me to spread my legs to clear that damned wide tank.

As far as spacers, my local ACE hardware stores all carry an assortment of chrome spacers, from 1/4" to almost 3". They're not cheap, from $4.50 to about $8.00 each, but still easier and cheaper than most other solutions. I used them to mount my saddlebag brackets. The quality of the chrome is really good too.

That's what I think. So I use a vstar 1300 brake pedal rubber and cut down the Roadstar's metal part it slips on.

Gives a little more room for the foot. Yamaha part # 1D7-27285-00-00 in case anyone wants to know.

Thumbnail clicky:

Looks like it fits lots of Yamaha's.
