Re:V&H Longshots and Baron BAK & "Jake Brake" Sound 1 Year ago
I havent tried this and hopefully some others will chime in, but you could try running straight pipes and installing torque cones in the intake, but again not sure about the recommendation, just know that when I was running straight pipes I didnt hear the Jake on decel, more of a low rumble. I sacrificed the kuelle sound for more torque (R R R R) by putting the baffles back in.

OK. I might try that. From the sounds of it, I probably can't tune the carb in order to get rid of the sound. I can probably live with the sound, knowing that it is just a condition of my set-up. Are there quite baffles for these pipes that will do the trick without discoloring the pipes?
If there is anyone out there with this set-up that does not have the "Jake Brake" sound on decel please chime in and let me know what you did to get rid of it. Thanks!

Well, I pulled the baffles, leaving the thunder monsters and went for a ride. WAAAAAYYY less torque, and the "jake brake" sound remained - it was just louder.

Any other ideas?

I've got somewhat the same setup as you, I had your jake brake sound Without any baffles in, then installed Thunder City Monster Baffles, 6inches deep, no other baffles, bike sounds quieter with no jake brake sound
