You know the plastic rod ones. To attach to the bike, I used a piece of aluminum angle and two U bolts to hold it to the sissy bar. Then I put the flags on the aluminum and put a screw into each side to make sure they stay on. Plus the window mount flags are fairly inexpensive and easily replaced if you wear one out or loose one. With just 2 screws holding each flag on, you can remove them fairly quick too. I forgot, it's pretty cheap to make too. 3' pieces of 3/4" aluminum angle was about $4. the U-bolts (need 4) were about $1 each.
