Re:Butt and Tail bone started hurting after 350 miles 11 Months, 3 Weeks ago
I have the Mustang and 350 miles in it starts to make me a bit sore. I did almost 700 miles last weekend and by day two my butt wasn't sore anymore. It takes a while at the start of the season to get your body conditioned. If my wife is on board, we have to stop every 150 miles or so so we can both get off and stretch.... nearly 60 years old makes for stiff joints! It's tough to just get on a bike and crank out the miles hour-after-hour, and that's why it frequently takes me longer to do the same trip on a bike versus a car. My buddy just went to ProPad gel seat covers and says they are great. I might get one for the wife. Another hint- watch the wallet in the back pocket- the pressure from it hours long in a bike seat can give you pain in the lower back and hips.

Did 310 miles last Saturday in my Ultimate... first real trip with it. Was very pleasantly surprised that at no time did I feel I needed to get off of it.

I'm 5'11", 195, 32" inseam with a pretty thinly padded butt, so I can get plenty uncomfortable real quick in most circumstances.

I was pleasantly satisfied with my Ultimate. If the ED was around at the time I bought, I would have steeped up to that... 2 other guys on the ride had one, and I sat on one for a moment, and I could tell it would likely have been even better than my Ultimate.

We are overlooking the obvious.....most Men do NOT have a butt, so we sit on our tail bone, Think about it!

Yep. Different seats work for different riders. For me, the ED was very painful choice, the Ultimate by far better.

Most I've done in a day was about 700 miles in about 16 hrs or so. Did a quick stretch & refreshment every 100-150 miles. I was pretty much sore all over but nothing significant in the butt/tailbone area. I have the Ultimate seat and have heard that the ED is as good.

How long were you out? I have found that its the hours in the saddle that get to you. Not necessarily the miles.

I had the Corbin 2 up touring seat. Tried the gel pad, was worse than the seat. Ended up calling Woody for the Pillow Top from Geezer Glide. Problem solved.
