vista cruise or breakaway thottle lock 1 Year ago
so im torn between the two. on one hand yoou get a basic throttle lock for the low $30 mark and its just that, a basic throttle lock. it does the job it was made to do but the high end breakaway looks to be streamlined way more heavy duty looks a hell of alot better and it will self cancel if you hit the breaks that is very good if you find a situation that you need to stop/slow down ver quicky. so all in all is the breakaway worth the extra $150 over the cost of the vista cruise probly not but its not like it would be the first time i would willingly over pay for something that look beeter and works better.

what do you guys think, basic vista or high end breakaway???

also i know i can put a true cruie control on the sled but i dont want to go thru the wiring nightmare

Have had the Breakaway for over a year. Works great, looks like it came on the bike. Very high quality. You won't be disappointed with it.

i had the vista cruise, used to to cali and back and again heading out to washington st. works great for the cost, but i would say its not near as safe as the break away - you can flip the thumb up from the down position too hard and lock the throttle that way too.. not fun when there is traffic in front of you lol - clutch is your friend.

thats just the reason i am even thinking of spending the extra $150 on the breakaway. sure on the open road either would be just fine but if you need to hit the break and slow down quickly like a car or animal gets out in front of you it would be nice not to have to worry about the throttle being open while i try to stop

+1 plus you get the benefit of being able to disengage it with a thumb button or the brale lever. Had mine for three years and am very happy with it

How do you keep the control pad dry if you get out in the rain.
