Saddle Bag guards 11 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Does anyone know where to get either the stock yamaha bag guards that have the rail of a knock-off at a reasonable price... Love the look but $500 for the two parts is crazy. They have a knock-off of the bar only type on ebay for about $70 http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Yamaha-Road-Star-Rear-Saddle-Bag-Guards-/180899221540?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a1e6f1024&vxp=mtr

Those are the Tour Classic guards, and will work with the Tour Classic bags, not the standard Yamaha saddlebags. At least, not without modification.

The saddlebag guards that are made for the standard saddlebags aren't cheap But they fit without any modification. The front hoop is something like $250.00, if you want the whole thing, like I have on my bike.....

You'll pay around $495.00.

I don't care how much something costs for my bike. If I like it, I buy it! I bought my saddlebag rails from my dealer.

I took the part numbers off the Yamaha website and ran searches on eBay and Google. I was able to get the front guards for about 1/2 price, and the rest at about 25% off. Once a got both parts ( took about 6 months) I mounted them both. I say keep searching, and if funds are an issue, you can buy and mount the front for now, they get the rest later.
