Another AIS question... 11 Months, 1 Week ago
So, when I'm rolling between 35 and 50 mph, light throttle, I sound like my front jug has a head pipe gasket leak, is that the stupid AIS making noise??

Pipe is tight, and no sign of an exhaust leak..

Yes. The reed valve "chirps" as it draws air in at low throttle positions. Yet another (as if we needed one) reason to put the AIS plumbing and parts in the Junk bin in the garage. Notice I did not say throw it away! Those pieces of hose might be handy one day.

Yeah, kinda Chirping, reminds me of a header gasket leak on a hot rod, just not as loud, but still bothers me...I would rather here the engine rumble..

You sure it is the AIS? Before you mess with anything, check the headlight. Almost all of these bikes eventually get the headlight chirp/rattle/squeek. It will sound like it is coming from anywhere except the headlight, but trust me, that could be your noise.

Had the same issue on my 03'. Put a couple pieces of double sided sticky foam insulation tape at the 10 and 2 position on the headlight bezel. Chirp gone (actually it sounded more like sitting under high tension wires on a hot day). My 07' has the same BS going on. Got the AIS still in it though so I'll do the headlight first and see.
