I'm thinking use the V&H head pipes I have, and making a 2 into 1 adapter to get into the front of the 3 1/2" housing that will hold the glass pack. Would be fun to try. Guess IF (that's a big if) I get the hot job at the new wing plant, I'll actually have the time to do stuff like that! No room for it working the last job. 12 years of long hours, and no gratitude! We'll see. Like the V&H guy stated mine were 20" long with about 2" solid bands at either end. I decided to try simply cutting 8" off the inside and after finding stainless bolts to replace the trashed originals reassembled everything. Nice deeper tone, even the wife doesn't think they're any louder, and definitely pulls smoothly through the entire rpm range. No more burbling on deceleration is another benefit. I'm tempted to pull them and try trimming another 2" but concerned it might end up too short and ruin what I've accomplished. Thanks in advance (newbie) The baffels are pretty easy to take out. The final heat shields need to be loosenedd and moved back to get to the locking screw (tire side of the pipe). I used a wire coat hanger to pull my out the first time. They are dirty so have a towel ready to clean those paws. I really need to figure out how to upload an audio track! Anyway, I love the sound! Much deeper and fuller - amazing what shortening the baffles to 10" does! I kept the long extra pieces in case I get tired (read "my wife gets tired" of the sound, as I can always tack weld them back on. The idle now sounds like a 98" motor and full throttle is awesome! Normal riding - fill in the blank - is just fine as long as I keep my hand out of it.
