whats bigger venture bags or OEM? 11 Months, 1 Week ago
I thinking about trading out mine or buying a set of Yamaha bags but whats bigger the venture hard bags or OEM hardbags? Both are nice but I think I prefure the OEM bags as long as they have the lowering kit on them.

Why you switching hardbags Smokes? I always wanted HD bags on my Roadie too, but I think my OEM Hardbag are growing on me. I'm not sure how big the Venture bags are, but mines are a good size for all my tools, jacket and half helmet.

Im prrtty picky on the gap between bags and fender, I like tight. And to do that with hd bags I need a skinny seat like my danny gray im currently runing. Im sure I could move them out and back to give me the room but it wouldny give me the ”fit” im looking for I think. I dunno im probly gunna play around with adjusting stuff around and see what I think I should do. If I decide to change bags I will ask if anyone wants to trade straight up. I pay to ship mine and the other pays to ship his. unless I get a super deal on a set of bags to try before I sell the hd bags. Again if I cant move stuff around to my liking.

I definatly dont want to lower the bags cause the bottoms sit level with the bottom of the rear fender, its like perfect. I think I would be ”ok with up to 1” back it was 2”back with the stock seats and I think it was way to far back to look right. And I would be fine with moving them out a inch provided I make a real nice set of filler panels.

The Venture bags are bigger than Harley bags too. Personally I like the looks of the stock silverado hard bags, but, like you've already heard Venture is way bigger.

If you use the venture or RSTD factory mounts, ya have to do a little modification to them, but they bolt on and put the bags right where ya need them... check out my Photobucket link in my sig pic... look under saddlebags and sissy bar... that will show ya what ya need to do
