Thinking about new handlebars... 10 Months, 1 Week ago
Not sure what will work, since I have the Road Glide fairing. Thinking about something like a baby-ape; do they make an 8" ape?

I heard Heritage Style bars work too, anyone have these?

I would prefer to not have to change any hoses or cables.

Saw a RG the other day with apes, looked good, but then again I really like RG's. And apes...
I've never seen an 8" but that doesn't mean they don't make em.

I find that the stock bars are a bit wide for maneuvering between cars at stoplights. Thinking a higher bar, like a baby ape would help. Maybe something a little narrower?

I was originally considering the beach bars, but those would probably be way-wide.

Yea from what I've read on here beach bars a a good bit wider than stock. Going from my stock to the apes was like going from manual to power steering. Ice also read that the 10" baby apes don't require a cable change, just some re routing of the cables, the question is, did you have to re route the cables for the fairing?

Also, talk to Tim B. At metric magic. He's been on here a lot recently to. He will probably be able find whatever size apes you want/need.

Polishdog how about a beachbar. I have one that was installed on my R* until I switch out to a 12" Ape. Here is a picture of it on my bike.

Are bars an issue with the RG faring? I was thinking the just could not be wider than the forks down at the risers.

Heritage style - height 8" bars

Simple and close to what you want - height 9-1/2" apes
http://www.jpcycles.com/product/501-641

thicker bar 1-1/4"and money and you would need new risers - height 8-1/2" apes

I am putting a rg fairing on my bike and i mocked it up the other day and the issue I had was I couldn't open the glove boxes with my barons star bars. Not a big issue for me as I was going to 13" apes anyway.

Get someone to help you measure your desired rise, width , and pullback while you are sitting on the bike and take those #'s and look at bars here. If you click on the different bars It will give you all the #'s. If you go back to the home page their is a good guide for measuring. I found my wifes this way and just did not worry about what everybody else liked and found a perfect set of bars for her. http://www.sideroadcycles.com/ImportedMotorcycles/ImportHandlebars/ImportHandlebarsOne.html
Whether or not you buy some of theirs is up to you but you can get a good idea of what you want and know more about what you are looking for. She went with these BTW and they are actually Ultra bars for a Harley. http://www.sideroadcycles.com/ImportedMotorcycles/ImportHandlebars/ImportMore/ImportUltra2-2.html

I just ordered 8" up with 10" pullback off e-bay for $45.99+$6.00 shipping. They are the same width as stock R*bars. I already have 2" risers on. We will see.
