Just snagged off of eBay! 11 Months ago
Just snagged a new set of '09 Road Star mags with tires and rotors for one of my '01s!

Now what is it I need to be aware of? A rear spacer? Is the spacer for mags thinner or thicker, and does anyone have one they can part with?

Is #14, as in a blow-up diagram of the assembly?

If the rear came with the pulley hub you're in good shape. If not, you're going to have to change out parts in your pulley hub to make it work.

Pretty sure pulley hub's not coming with this one.

If I just put my own in from my '01 spoke set-up, I should be good to go then?

The cast wheels off the newer bikes have a different wheel hub bearing on the left side. It's a needle bearing and the spacer that spaces out the hub pulley is also the inner race for that bearing. Your '01 pulley hub has a built in spacer that rides against the inner race of the sealed bearing that fits in the wheel hub of your '01 wheel. I think you can purchase the bearings and spacer that fit the '09 setup and install them in your '01 pulley hub - I think - maybe someone here has done it and can advise.

When you look at the two different wheels you'll see what I mean.

The front wheels are a direct swap and you can even use the floating brake rotors off the '09 on your stock '01 caliper setup. Just leave the "pie plate" covers off.

I'll look and study it real good. I'm sure I'll figure it out.

I knew the front would be a direct bolt up. I'm not going to mess the rear up... I'll learn exactly what I need before I attempt the swap.

I don't have the pie plates on my '01s anymore, so they're not going on the '09 wheels, for sure!

If anyone knows exactly what I'll need to do the rear wheel mag swap onto my '01, I'd sure appreciate it that!
