Any other air filter like the K&N but not oiled? 4 Years, 1 Month ago
Two questions, guys...
Is the Barons BAK an oiled or dry filter?
And is there anyone that makes a oil free filter for the stock box that is similar to the K&N? The K&N is oiled.

The reason that I ask is that I own a Dodge Cummins Ram and a lot of the diesel owners will not use K&N because their filters let so much dust and dirt through. I've seen photos of turbos with the fins worn down from the stuff K&N lets through.

For the BAK Amsoil makes an filter that doesn't use oil. Don't know about the stock size.

Amsoil also makes a stock filter replacement but they only are serviceable for four years vs the K&N million mile.
Just my .03 cents

Greysnake...allowing for the 5% difference on our speedo's... our K&N's would be good for 1,050,000 miles..right? I wasnt to good in 'rithmatic'.

I have the Amsoil, same one that BAK uses for the Thunder Mfg.
I know it says that the K&N can look dry but still be working fine,
but drys out quick here in Vegas and got tired of worrying if
it was ok or not.Amsoil all you have to do is vaccum it clean.
Don`t really think I`ll put 1,ooo,ooo miles on the K&N anyway

Hey Vegas

Is yours an open filter? I heard that the Amsoil can have problems in the rain. Have you had any issues?
