Anyone have a Kuryakyn Hypercharger kit on their bike? If so do you ever suck in much water if you get caught in the rain? And do you think it made a difference to the bike besides looking pretty cool?

I've had it before. I really miss it to tell the truth. It made a difference over the stock breather, and I rode with it in the rain and never had trouble. But if you're worried about rain, you can get a breathable cover for it, or carry a plastic bag.

I have one. I've ridden in horizontal rain, sleet, snow. No problems. It worried me at one time, got stuck in a steady rain once for about 4 hours and a torrential down-pour for about 1/2 hour. Never had any problems with water getting into the carb.

Hyperchargers are cool!

I like the standard hypercharger because you can change the trap door, change out the butterflies, add a infinity streamliner (I got one), add the stinger trap door for extra air. The pro series, there's no options that I know of.

The only thing I dislike about it, is that it sticks out a bit far, the pro-series even further. Takes a bit getting used to.

i´m running a hypercharger with the pro upgrade.

no troubles at all in the rain (and it does come down here when it rains ) when running or parked.

really, the bit that works is just the K&N filter inside. the outside case, despite the blurb from kuryakyn, is just bling. they do give a noticeable gain over the stock air filter

but it´s bling that i happen to think looks cool

the only problem that i have encountered is a bit of carb icing when the temprature drops to 5ºc > -10ºc. apart from that it works fine.

You won't be disappointed going with the hypercharger ......... I felt a difference in power and as for rain not much to worry about ....... the butterflies help keep out the rain and unless your running full throttle they won't be open all the way. You'll be happy with your investment!

Love my Hypercharger. Looks great & no problems in the rain. If only I can get my jetting right to increase my gas mileage. I'm at 32mpg w/a 175 jet ... which is about the same as the 205 jet that was in it when the HC got installed. Sooner or latter, I'll get'er up to above 40mpg. Someday.
