Apparently to can predetermine what the limits will be. He had it set so that the fender never really sat all the way down on the tire, so it could be ridden at the lowest setting. What was a little weird was the button on the side cover under the seat could be operated with the bike off. It would jack up and down, or anywhere in between, as long as you held the button down. He tried to tell me that the real point was compensating for weight, like with different passengers or luggage or whatever.
