EXHAUST - Best Quality - Best Sound 5 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I have been researching exhaust systems for a number of months. I am trying to make an educated decision based on "Quality" and "Sound". I am looking for "factual" input based on sound observation, testing and/or knowledge.

I am NOT looking for opinions, as they are a dime-a-dozen. Price will Not be a factor here, just the best pipes. This will be my criteria:

"Best 2 into 2 exhaust system"

(1) Best "Sound" (loud/quiet is not of issue here, Quality is).
(2) Best "Looks" (includes quality of plating, welding, design style).
(3) Best "Wearing" (includes anti-blueing, chrome peel, maintenance etc).
(4) Best "Sales" (helpful-manufacturer, interested in consumer feedback).

I am Not interested in exhaust systems that are "Cooked in the same Pot" or plain looking. Radical styled eye candy is important. I lean towards manufacturers like Mortons and BMS (Cobra types are just to plain for my taste). I am very interested in hearing the data. As for opinions ..... post them in someone elses thread (I don't want to here people trying to justify why their $150 cheap pipes, are the best there is

Thats going to be difficult. "Best sound" is subjective to ones ear and taste. Even at the Harley testing facility in Milwaukee, with their high tech exhuast tesing area (I saw it on a TV show) they have a room full of people listening on head sets that make the final choice. I know of no testing equipment that can give you that data. So, that being said, good luck! and let us know what you have found.

I hear you Java, as "Subjective" usually relates to "Personal" preference as opposed to "Objective" and just doing stats.

OK ... Let's refine my query a little bit. Let's look at the following manufacturers, their pipes and the experiences people have had with them.

Manufacturer (1) Mortons - Candidates for comparison:
http://www.mortonscustom.com/yamahapipes.html

- Uproars
- CurbFeelers
- HotRods

Manufacturer (2) BMS - Candidates for comparison:
http://www.bmschoppers.com/eshopitems_cat_1479-11366.Exhaust.htm

- Convicted
- Felony
- Guilty

Manufacturer (3) Barons - Candidates for comparison:
http://www.baronscustom.com/catalog/display/985/index.html

- CurveDD
- StackeDD

Manufacturer (4) Vicious - Candidates for comparison:
http://www.viciouscycleworks.us/khxc/ccp0-prodshow/yamah_ar.html

- CHAOS III

Manufacturer (5) Wicked - Candidates for comparison:
http://www.wickedbrosexhaust.com/classic.html

- Wizards
- UnderTakers

Manufacturer (6) H&H - Candidates for comparison:
http://www.sscustomcycle.com/products/pipes/roadstar.shtml

- HH TurnDowns
- FreeStyle DragPipes

There! That seems like a decent list of "UltraCool" pipes. Let's hear your experiences with these beauties .........

You have done the research. Now YOU have to make the choice. Your educated research is far beyond the process I had. I picked the exhaust I liked the look of from a reputable manufacture and bought it. When I didn't like the sound, I changed it with baffles to where I did.

You may not find an exhaust that fits all of your criterion. You could always change the closest one to fit all of your needs. Jump in and do it, you don't need anyone else's opinion.
