IMHO, I think 100-200 miles is a good "Charity Ride", the real fun is in the fund raising (BBQ). Many of the sponsors want the riders to come to the party and hopefully they will pick up a client at the fund raiser and make it that much more worth thier while. Just my O.

I agree with both Flashback and Darn Oldie. Most of the charity runs in this area are about 75-100 miles. After the ride BBQ is served and door prizes are raffled. More opportunity to raise $$.

I participate in several every year. Here's how most of them go: Poker run style with multiple scheduled stops at pre-determined locations....about 100 miles. Day cruise where people ride at their own pace on a planned route....no more than 150 miles.

Been on quite a few charity rides and I have to agree most of the time it is 100-150miles. With one exception there is the Ironazz ride which is 500miles

Yeh Bro 150 miles tops. Make it a poker run that way everyone can go at there own pace.
The biggest and quickest money maker at these events are the 50/50 drawings. You sell raffle tickets and whatever you get you raffle off half of it. Collect $2000.00 then you raffle off $1000.00 and the organization gets the other $1000.00.
We usually sell 1-$1.00, 7-$5.00, 15-$10.00. Most people will get the $10.00 worth.
Hope that helps. If you need any more specifics just PM me and I will be happy to assist you. I have helped out with many events and fund raisers over the years.

The largest two I rode in last year were both in the 150-160 mile range. Nice ride and still time for the auctions afterwards.

Have you thought about a charity poker run. A poker hand (5 cards)...1 at registration - before starting...3 cards picked at 3 separate points along way, plenty of refreshments...and 1 at destination with a good BBQ and maybe a band / camp over.

Total distance at poker run that I went on last weekend was 160klms..sorry...around 100miles.
