Like BigBoy was saying, the Port Gibson deal is a good stop off. You can also take the Grand Gulf road up to the Grand Gulf Park, they have a musuem and a couple of good picnic areas, if you are into old stuff and Civil War goodies. Also, on up the road from the park at the banks of the river, Ms. River, there is a big marker showing the height of the Great Flood of 1929, I think, it is unbelieveable how high the river reached. Then do the Trace on into Natchez. Plenty to do there. All kind of Antebellum Homes,, if you like that stuff. If you like barbeque, go the Broauds on Main. It will be worth the entire ride. Naturally, I left out Vicksburg, plenty of Civil War stuff there, Military Park and Cemetery, (Civil War,) I can go on and on, on these areas. You probably realize I like the area and love Civil War do-dahs. Biggest suggestion, sit back, take your time, and enjoy Mississippi and its charm. Nowhere else like it. Have a BALL!MM
