HOOVER DAMN IS AWESOME, ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE STILL DOING THE TOURS THERE. IF THERE IS ANY TYPE OF RACE GOING ON THIS WEEKEND, THE VEGAS SPEEDWAY IS ANOTHER PLACE. HELICOPTER TOUR OF THE GRAND CANYON IS FUN (THOUGH PRICEY). OR GO OUT TO BUFFALO BILLS AND RIDE THE COASTER. DEPENDS ON ALL WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR. ME, PERSONALLY, I WOULD GO TO THE DAMN AND JUST RIDE OUT THROUGH THE DESERT AND RED ROCK.
HOPE THIS HELPED YA.

Circus Circus had rooms for $25 a night when I checked last week.
Might want to stop by AAA and get a pamphlet "las Vegas area map and guide"

Aaron:

Hit the shops at Caesar's.
See the fountain at the Bellagio.
Walk around the Venetian. It's gorgeous.

And, most importantly. Collect me some more free cards from the Mexicans on the street. I normally end up with a stack about 4" thick. I guess I look like the type... (you'll figure out why that's funny when you get there)...

Have fun.

I used to work near Vegas many moons ago...
About a 1 hour drive north up Interstate 15 is Valley of Fire state park. I believe it cost about 12-15 bucks to drive through It is amazingly beautiful.IMHO worth the ride.
Although the desert is dangerously Hot this time of year. keep hydrated.
If you go to the Hoover damn, you can always stop off on your way or coming back at one of the Lake Meade parks and take a cold swim.

Circus Circus is a dive. We stayed there back in March. It is nothing like it was the first time we stayed there 20 years ago. $25/night is about right for Circus Circus - anything more would be highway robbery.

we just got back a month ago, we stayed at monte carlo for 45 bucks a night. Hoover Dam is real cool, but i warn you about the heat!!! DO NOT GO IF THERE IS A CHANCE YOU WILL GET STUCK IN HEAVY TRAFFIC LIKE RUSH HOUR. My father in law still has the burn marks from the engine heat on his legs!! Ride up and down the strip at leats once and have the wife take some pics. Have fun!!

First off I would stay off the vegas strip this time of year with a motorcycle. The stop and go traffic will kill you and the motorcycle. If you go for a ride wear long sleeve white cotton shirts and take plenty of gator aid & water. It's hot out here this time of year. You could ride to Mt.Charleston which is a nice ride. 95 north to 157 kyle canyon rd. Just outside of Vegas. There is a lodge up there to get drinks and eat at.

well...just got back. the rides to Mt Charleston, Valley of Fire, North Shore of Lake Meade, and Hoover Dam were great. Some AWESOME scenery, especially for a guy from flat North Texas. Harley Electra Glide was nice, but I wished I had my Roadie!!! My wife did enjoy the Tour Pack though.
