I had planned on it the same time, but I got a free trip to the beach instead. How are you going up? I usually go straight up 441/OBT. It takes about 45 minutes longer than going up I75, but small towns, two lane, and abundant gas stations are all nice. Enjoy your trip, and ride safe.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive, well-preserved body; rather you should skid in sideways, cold pizza in one hand, beer in the other, body thoroughly trashed, totally worn out, screaming, Yeehaw.\\\\\\

If I'm going at it alone it'll be 75 to Tellico, then Tellico over to Robbinsville then up to the gap. Last year went all the way around to Pigion forge as base camp. Then over the top on 441 couple times down to 74 to 19 to 28 then to the gap. To me the 28 and Cherhola were much more intense and at times enjoyable then the tail in itself.

I live here, just south of Deals Gap... when I travel down to Orlando to see my daughter or down to Lake Okeechobee to see my parents, I take I75 down to the Turnpike and the same way back up... no issues with gas stations on the interstate, and you can really let that bike purr at around 80 mph the whole trip... one word of advice in Atlanta... stay in the POV lane on the bike... alot more room from the cages and nobody will mess with ya... especially if it is rush hour...
