Ice-fields Parkway 1 Year ago

Our little group of riders will be making a quick excursion into Canada from Utah, July 22nd through 31st. We'll ride up through Montana and into Canada, North of Kalispell. We'll be in Canmore for three nights. That will give us two days for Banff, Jasper, Lake Louise, and the Ice-fields Parkway. That's not much time for my first visit to Canada, but then I work for a living. Then we'll return to Utah via Glacier National Park, Red Lodge, Beartooth Pass, Yellowstone, Cody, Jackson Hole and then home. Are there any "must see" places near Canmore we should include on the itinerary other than the ones I mentioned above?

The Beartooth highway will be a highlight of your trip. It's probably one of the best rides you can find. Great scenery, plenty of curves, not a lot of traffic.
Be very careful in Glacier that time year. It can get bumper-to-bumper on the weekends. Lots of traffic and cagers watching the scenery rather than the road. I rode the Going to the Sun road in July '91. More than one close call on that ride.

You'll be riding north on Interstate 15 right? There's nice bypass at Wolf Creek north of Helena that follows the Missouri river to Ulm just South of Great Falls. I'm in Helena. Drop me a PM if you don't mind the company and maybe I can ride along up to GF.
