Welcome! (from Ohio) I visited Thailand two years ago when my daughter spent a year there teaching English in Trang, down south. I spent three weeks in-country and loved every second of it. Flew into Bangkok and took the 18 hour train to Trang. Managed to hit the Full Moon party at Kho PhanGan while we were there. I have been trying to get my wife to ex-pat there ever since! Beautiful country and great people. I envy you....

Yes, John. Beautiful country and a great place to be. The first time I came here was 2005, and I visited for long periods twice a year up until May 2010 when I retired and moved here permanently.
I tell the story often that if I had found out about this place when I was 40, it would have ruined my life. I wouldn't have retired and gotten my pension because I would have been trying to finagle a way to get here before it was wise to do so.
I've had nothing but good experiences, and I've been thinking of it as home since 2008.
Is your daughter still teaching here, or has she moved on?
