Robert, sorry to hear about the bike problems just glad you had some help around you when you needed it. It paid off that I didn't stay the night. Frank made it out to the track and watched my first race on Sunday and I was able to hold off my competition in the first one for a first place. The second race went a little better as I was able to open up a gap early on and had a little breathing room to come in first again. Good day overall but it took forever.

Our first race where a buddy of mine went down yesterday

This is a helmet cam video of my buddy Tony Dyckman going down near the end of lap one of our first race yesterday. I'm two guys over to the right on the start. You can just see me leaving the the first right hand turn in the lead. He got up from this eventually but knocked his shoulder out of commission. Needless to say he had a DNS for race two.

I must apologise for not making it up. My wife broke her wrist in 6 places and now has a plate and 12 screws holding things back together. Since she was not able to ride her own bike and has been in alot of pain, we elected to not try and make the trip. I felt like I would be out of place because I would be riding my harley not my R*. My R* as you can see in my sig.pic is built for 1 person only.

Perhaps we could plan something for next year around April or May when it's just starting to warm up but not too hot. By that time my wife should be healed enough to be able to ride again. Or perhaps we could come out for Arizona Bike week. I have heard some good things about that run and that would be doable in April and not have to worry about monsoon rains!

Wow! What a ride. That was the logest twistiest trip I've ever been on. To tell the truth I'm still recovering and some blood has returned to my numb butt cheeks! I'd do it again in a minute. All of the people were great and I felt like they were long time friends from the start. I'm always afraid of doing something embarrassing and looking like a fool. Well, I did some embarrassing things and nobody made me feel like an outsider or stupid. Thanks to all for your patience and support. I'd ride with you all anytime and would be proud to call you friends. God bless....Dan

Glad you chimed in Dan, I was waiting to hear back from you to make sure your ride back on Sunday was all good. I had a blast. Let's do it again real soon.

Re:AZ meet and greet? 1 Year, 7 Months ago
My buddy David and I also enjoyed the trip very much...many thanks for all that could show and hopefully we can tear up the roads with a bigger crowd next time I managed to wear out what was left of my tires on these great roads (sorry Dan, we weren't really trying to leave you in the dust you did great...I was scared to death the first few time that I smack the floorboards on this monster of a bike ). Anyways, I now need to replace the tires. I dilemma is that I'm running Michelin Commanders and the bozos at Michelin decided to discontinue OUR size. I got 14k miles on this set and don't think there are too many replacements that can match it
I'm open for suggestions...I've tried: Factory Bridgestones (slippery and wore out too fast), Metzler ME 880's ( close to 11k) and these Commanders (so far the best)
What are you guys getting and what's the best source??

Thanks
